The Lil Thrashers live to thrash and thrash to live. Now, we get to meet one of the scene’s hardest shred squads, the TEENIE MEANIES, through the first NFT drop from the universe. A Night At The Catacombs Vol 1 is a 24-piece, 1-of-1 NFT series individually designed and animated by Lazers Lab and available exclusively at Bitski.com.
This is the first full look into the Lil Thrashers universe created by Lazers Lab in partnership with producer Jesse Korman and Flux88 Studios. It’s centered around Grimstone’s favorite fairy metal act, TEENIE MEANIES, a bullying band of fairies known for their magical shredding ability that holds up to the cream of the kawaii metal crop. Purchase of one of these NFTs also comes chock-full of utility sure to up your scene cred at Grimstone’s favorite rock club, The Catacombs. This utility includes your character appearing in future episodes from the Lil Thrasher’s universe, Ticket stub granting you free minting (minus gas fee) in the upcoming Lil Thrasher’s generative project, and a High-res tour poster from “Night At The Catacombs Vol 1” ready to print.
The TEENIE MEANIES may be tiny, but their attitude is monstrous. Their songs tackle the complexities of bullydom and the joys that come along with terrorizing their scene. They may have a bit of Napoleon Complex, but it sounds great set to power chords and pinch harmonics. Clips from the TEENIE MEANIES’ debut single “Get Mean” can be heard in the background of each of the NFTs in the Night At The Catacombs Vol 1 series, and the full track will be available everywhere you stream on April 1st. You can pre-save “Get Mean” on Spotify now, and rumor has it that they are working on a pretty rad music video to accompany the release!
Lil’ Thrashers is a collection of young monsters, misfits, and mutants who live to thrash and thrash to live. In a cruel world full of rules, restrictions, and homework, these kids have found refuge at the Catacombs: a truly underground rock club located deep under the center of their hometown, Grimstone. The Catacombs is the regular haunt of Lil Thrashers seeking a positive way to cope with all the frustrations of the outside world. They find strength in the thriving community of like-minded headbangers as they do their best to better themselves and make Grimstone a superior place to thrash. Dealing with problems at school, bullies in your neighborhood, or your parents just not getting it? We’ve got the answer: Rage Therapy – get with it!
Night At The Catacombs Vol 1., along with the first episode of Lizzie Wilding – Teenage Werewolf, combine to offer the first glimpses at life in Grimstone. As the universe unfolds via music, NFTs, and new animated series’, the team will aim to create opportunities for headbanging parents to share their love of heavy music with their kids in a way that is accessible/safe for them and teaches lessons at every turn along the way.
Quote from series creator, Lazer Labs, about Lil Thrashers, “Punk and Heavy Metal really helped me out through my angsty teenage years right up to my thirty-somethings. I’ve always seen the value in having an outlet to channel negative energy- and I don’t think you should have to wait to be grown up to enjoy heavy music. A cartoon was a fun way to explore that world with my son, and also open a dialogue about how to express feelings of frustration in a productive way.”
