Multi platinum artist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Skylar Grey has released “Falling Apart,” the new single off her first independent album. Skylar Grey has endured tumult, trials, and tribulations only to take control of her artistry like never before, writing, producing, and performing every note—alone on her first album since 2016. The result is her most ambitious and cohesive project to date.
Following a difficult time in her life, Grey says “I wrote this song last year when I was feeling very lost and discouraged. My confidence took a few major hits, between parting ways with Interscope, and getting dropped by managers… And it felt like 5 years of my life had been lost, having been so mentally preoccupied with personal drama, which made it very difficult to be creative. I had so many questions… Why did this happen? What did I do wrong? What should I do now? And whenever I need to do some soul searching I go to the woods, hence the video concept, where I drew a missing person self-portrait, and hung copies up around in the woods.”
