Zach Hood has released “never knew a heart could break itself“, the highly-anticipated follow-up to his first single of 2022, “I Miss My Friends”. The melancholic new track can be heard now below.
“This song is about breaking up with someone but slowly regretting my decision while she has moved on,” shares Hood. “Then, I’m left feeling incredibly stuck. I can’t take the photos of us off the shelf. I can’t get past the relationship. But I don’t want to selfishly intervene in her life and mess up anything good happening for her. The photos and memories are all that I have left.”
Born and raised in Daphne, Alabama, the 20-year-old musician went from fervently posting content on Tik Tok to signing a record deal with Arista and landing representation from William Morris Endeavor. Now based in Los Angeles, he has approximately 3.3 million monthly listeners on Spotify, with over 100 million streams across platforms.
In May, Zach Hood will perform at Hangout Fest in his home state of Alabama.
“I’m just a kid from Alabama who stayed true to himself,” says Hood. “I never let anyone get in in my way, I persevered, and I stayed on my path. I just absolutely had to make music.”
