Jerry Paper has released their new single “Duumb” from their upcoming album, Free Time, out April 15th via Stones Throw. The album is an expression of freedom on Jerry Paper, aka the freaky weirdo musical persona of Lucas Nathan’s journey to self-discovery as a nonbinary artist, groover, and, most importantly, shaker of ass. On Free Time, Jerry Paper embraces themselves for who they really are: non-binary, a beautiful flower, nuanced, strange, bizarre, and flawed…with a ketchup stain on their blue dress.
Said Nathan on the new track, “Duumb” is about, “just being a fucking dumbass and forgiving yourself!”
Jerry Paper will play tracks from Free Time on their BIG TOUR later this year.
Of the upcoming tour Nathan said, “When I perform, I am constantly weaving in and out of ecstatic, out of body experiences. There’s just something about singing and dancing… It’s a strange experience and I do a lot of wiggling and ass-shaking while it’s happening; it feels cosmic and bodily and beautiful! It’s one of the experiences that I value most in my life and I can’t wait to do it over and over and over again, through the sleep deprivation, hangovers, laughter and tears of tour.”
