Brooklyn’s Kevin Holliday has unveiled his sultry new single, “Put It Down.” The funk-infused single is accompanied by a self-directed official video, inspired by Holliday’s recent time spent watching VHS home movies from his childhood. Captured entirely with an old-school Panasonic camera, viewers get the first look into the world of Kevin Holliday as he makes his debut as a director. Watch the video now below.
According to Holliday, the track is about seeing someone you don’t know and immediately becoming fascinated with their presence. “The thing about that feeling is it doesn’t always last,” he explains. “Sometimes when you find someone that brings that out of you, once you actually get to know them, it couldn’t be a worse match. This track explores all of the back and forth that is involved in those feelings.”
