LA singer/songwriter and wellness advocate little luna has released her new single “the glass” alongside a music video. The track will be featured on her introspective debut EP, through the self, out May 13th via AWAL Recordings.
“‘the glass’ was born out of a revelation i had while looking in the mirror. we all have parts of ourselves that are wonderful, and we all have parts of ourselves that are not great,” says little luna. “but to be able to look at yourself in the mirror, for all that you are, and not be scared of what you see, is a part of the journey to knowing your self fully and deeply. to alchemize your self, to truly transform your life, you can’t sweep the things you don’t want to deal with within yourself, under the rug. they’ll eventually pile up, and you’ll trip over the bump in the carpet! i’ve been facing a side of myself in the glass tonight, and i’ve realized, it’s okay that i look inside.”
To go alongside the single release, little luna teamed up with designer Izzy Lux and photographer KayKay Blaisdell on a themed photoshoot. Custom designed by Izzy, little luna’s outfit contains a custom papier-mache torso piece to represent the emotional armor we tend to put on as protection.
little luna is on the path of rediscovering her truest self, and her songs are that journey happening in real-time, inspiring others to do the same. Her music, visuals, and fashion are influenced by the culture and curiosities of the early 70s. She has been teaching yoga and meditation for seven years, directs all of her music videos, and drops a yoga flow video with every song she releases.
Her upcoming debut EP through the self takes the listener through a journey of self: reflection, allowance to change, and empowerment. The EP closes with a 25 minute guided meditation track entitled “forest.” little luna is showing that through alchemy, the parts of oneself that may be hardest to look at, are the parts that can teach us the most.
