Norwegian DJ and producer Matoma and dance-pop trio A R I Z O N A have released their new single, “Heart So Big” today. The track was written with A R I Z O N A’s longtime collaborator PJ Bianco as a love letter to his son with autism.
Matoma shares, “PJ sent me this idea he was working on and I immediately fell head over heels in love. This song was pure emotion. As we’ve been making these plans for release around National Autism Awareness Month, and we’ve been seeing the tragedies occurring in Ukraine, we really felt there is a wider message in this song – a message of celebrating the joys of love and humanity in all shapes and forms. We hope that some of our initiatives around this release will make a positive change and spread love at a time when we all need it.”
A R I Z O N A shares, “This song, along with the hopes of raising autism awareness, carries a special notion in general that we should remember to cherish and protect the ones we love in our lives. Sometimes we can be all they have, or vice versa.”
Matoma, who recently headlined Gravity Festival in partnership with EDM-juggernaut Proximity, has already used his performance to raise money for Red Cross’ Ukraine Crisis Appeal, and matching donations personally. His livestream broke past records for the festival and raised $10,000.00 USD in just 45 minutes.
