Briston Maroney has released new single, “The Kitchen” and announced the deluxe version of his debut album Sunflower, out April 29th. The single arrives with an official music video starring Maroney and directed by longtime visual collaborator Joey Brodnax. Watch it now below and pre-order Sunflower: Deluxe HERE.
Maroney shares of the song, “‘The Kitchen’ was maybe the second song Congleton and I started working on and was an idea I wrote in my dad’s basement studio a few weeks before we hit the studio. It’s such a funny song in my mind because, during the writing process, I thought it was going to be this super dark heavy Interpol rock song. Which is always this voice I think I have, and upon recording and singing it, it was a great reminder that really all of the time I’m just a relatively average-sized soft person hahaha. I’m so glad to have this memory out, as it was a big part of the album.❤”
The track list for Sunflower: Deluxe includes a previously released version of “Bottle Rocket” featuring Manchester Orchestra, as well as an unreleased rework of album track “Cinnamon” featuring alt-pop singer-songwriter Genevieve Stokes.
Later this year, Briston Maroney will open for Jack White on select US dates, as well as serve as direct support for fellow Nashville act Rainbow Kitten Surprise on their July tour – including two sold-out nights at Red Rocks. He is also slated for performances at a number of marquee festivals including Bonnaroo and Hangout Fest.
