Yoke Lore, the New York indie pop project and solo musical venture of Adrian Galvin, has released a brand new single, “Shock Flesh” via Yellhouse Records. Listen to the new track below.
Speaking to his inspirations behind this new Yoke Lore single, Adrian said, “’Shock Flesh’ is about the concept of learning about yourself through someone else. And how that process can be painful. But it really does take two to tango so to speak… You have to bounce yourself off other people, give away parts of yourself, take parts of other people. But it can be really painful. And sometimes I would rather sit alone by myself than be plugged into the world. And sometimes that’s okay but this song is a reminder for me that there is value and beauty in the trauma that comes with shedding skin.”
“Sometimes songs for me are like sudden bolts of confusing impulses that come out of me and sometimes they are like piggy banks that I add a quarter to every day. This song was more of a piggy bank over the last couple years than it was a bolt of electricity. It matured over time. I had to let it become itself. In the end my friend Wrabel helped me put the final touches on it before we took family photos and sent it off to college.”
Yoke Lore is currently on tour in the US performing solo and also as support for Mt. Joy. Those dates can be found below.
