Australian indie rock band Eliza & The Delusionals have released their new single, “Halloween“. The hauntingly beautiful song is taken from the band’s upcoming debut album, Now And Then, out Friday 20 May via Cooking Vinyl Australia. Listen to it now below.
Of the song, the band’s Eliza Klatt said, “‘Halloween’ was written around a time in life where it felt like we had no responsibilities and we could explore who we wanted to be and it never felt like we were attached to anything. It’s about feeling like you’re the main character in a movie and you get to choose the role that you want to play. Kurt had this song written maybe three or four years before we had even started writing together, let alone for the album, and when he showed me, I instantly connected with it and felt it needed to be a part of the record.”
Kurt Skuse added, “For me, this song was actually quite difficult to reconnect to. It was hard for me to relate back to that time of life where it felt like that, and I actually had to really think about it and put myself back into that place when we were discussing album tracks so I could feel that same feeling again. I’m glad I was able to, because it’s one of my favorite songs on the album and it means a lot to me.”
