Briston Maroney has released the deluxe version of his debut album, Sunflower: Deluxe. Featuring brand new tracks and special re-recordings, the album arrives with high-energy new single, “Bottom of the Ocean.” Watch the accompanying music video now below.
The track list for Sunflower: Deluxe also includes a previously released version of “Bottle Rocket” featuring Manchester Orchestra, as well as an all new rework of “Cinnamon” featuring alt-pop singer-songwriter Genevieve Stokes.
Maroney shares of the album’s new additions, “The deluxe edition of this album feels so special to release, as it’s the final chapter of the ‘Sunflower’ days. I’m thankful to have these songs to look back on and remember the beautiful views out the window of the trains of thought passing through my underdeveloped mind, the colors too bright to even process. These songs all feel like such specific days of the recording process, captured in the middle of the moments that ended up on the final draft.
These songs are all a bit jagged in their approach, they all feel young and full of excitement to me. Anxiety and eagerness also come to mind. These songs were a lot of the ideas/emotional boats that got me to the places to write some of the songs on this record that I felt wouldn’t have been written otherwise. Genevieve’s additions to ‘Cinnamon’ just sealed the deal of that song’s delicate touches, and is such a beautiful contrast to the fun, zany, guitar driven tracks that it sits with.”
Also unveiled today is a fall headline run dubbed the All Aboard Tour. Dates for the trek will kick off at Charlotte’s Neighborhood Theater on September 6 and culminate with a show at Headliner’s Music Hall in Louisville, KY on September 24. Tickets are on sale now HERE.
Maroney will also open for Jack White on select US dates, as well as serve as direct support for fellow Nashville act Rainbow Kitten Surprise on their July tour – including two sold-out nights at Red Rocks. He is also slated for performances at a number of marquee festivals including Bonnaroo and Hangout Fest.
