Tokyo-born, Sydney-based electronic artist Nyxen has released the music video for her new single, “PXNK” (pronounced “punk). The video arrives ahead of the release of her debut album of the same name, out July 1st. Fans can pre-order PXNK HERE.
“Playing around with my Prophet, I got into a groove with an arp sound, which eventually became the first six seconds of Pxnk as you hear it now,” Nyxen said of the creation of the song, “I immediately associated the sound [of Pxnk] with scores by John Carpenter, Daft Punk, Vangelis, and Don Davis, visualizing cyberpunk-styled scenes is not uncommon for me (big sci-fi fan).”
She adds, “The song is littered with rave stabs, static broadcasts and low arpeggiated bass lines to pull you deeper into that high tech, low life world. PXNK is a synth-packed reflection of disconnection from things you once knew and the people that tether you back.”
