Denver’s Comet Lenny, the new solo project from Colton Kooker, has released a new single, “It’s Not Me” today. The synth-fueled anthem finds Kooker harnessing timeless sounds for a new twist on the classic pop-rock track about moving on from a relationship. Driven by groovy bass and a punchy drumbeat, the catchy as hell track is sure to get stuck in your head.
This new single was inspired by a close friend’s breakup and the rollercoaster of pain and recovery that came with the experience. “I hope this song helps my listeners navigate whatever difficult relationship issues they are going through,” he explained.
Comet Lenny finds Kooker rising from the ashes of the successful pop-punk group The Mazlows, taking the airwaves by storm with his irresistible pop hooks, nostalgic alt-rock vibes and relatable lyrics.
