LA based power pop band, The Small Calamities have return with their brand new single, “Hey Cat.” With lush, soaring strings and sharp, catchy lyrics, this track explores what could have been and what will never be after a failed relationship.
The new track is the first single from the band’s upcoming EP, Stupid Love Songs, out later this summer. Listen to it now below.
About the song, vocalist Charlie Wolf said, “During the pandemic I had a lot of friends reconnect with their ‘one that got away’ and sometimes that worked out but more often than not it kind of blew up in peoples’ faces. I tried to capture a lot of those experiences I’ve witnessed over the past two years in the lyrics of this song. We arranged all the strings and horns ourselves and had an orchestra in Europe record it live which was both surreal and terrifying!”
The Small Calamities are currently gearing up for a short run of shows along the West Coast. Today, they’ll be performing for Bridge City Sessions in Portland. Tickets are available now HERE. All dates are listed below.
