Viral singer-songwriter Francis Karel has released his transformative new single, “Holding On”, which captures the true essence of heartache and what it feels like to lose your first love. The stunning pop ballad finds Karel emotionally coming to terms with the fact that he’ll be holding on regardless of how much it might hurt in the end. Listen to the song now below.
“Holding On” follows Francis Karel’s previous single, “Like All My Friends”, which expressed his desire to fall in love for the first time. Ironically, two weeks after writing that song, he did fall head over heels for someone, and while the ending result may not have been ideal, it created the poetic, sonnet-like anthem that is “Holding On.”
“Love is so vague that you can only draw the outlines of it until you actually experience the details. Every experience is a new chapter I haven’t tapped into, and I feel like it’s also letting me grow as a person. I see love & heartbreak as fragments of imperfection that create something beautiful in the long run,” said Karel of the song.
Francis Karel will be on the road later this month, supporting Andy Grammer’s The Art of Joy Tour Pt 2. Tickets are available now HERE and dates can be found below.
