NYC-based indie pop band MisterWives have announced their re-signing to Photo Finish Records with their double single, “Easy” and “Where Do We Go From Here?”. Both songs can be heard now below, arriving just ahead of the band’s co-headlining tour with Lawrence, kicking off this weekend.
In an interview with Variety, the band said, “The last chapter of MisterWives taught us we can grow through treacherous, unexpected places like the wildflowers in the desert, and our new independent label Resilient Little Records put that lesson into action. On the other side of superbloom, we were met with more adversity and loss but we didn’t let that stand in the way of us moving forward. While it hasn’t been easy it gets easier especially when partnering with the dream team we originally started this journey with, Photo Finish Records. ‘Where Do We Go From Here?’ and ‘Easy’ encompass a new era for MisterWives that dives deeper into our creative freedom and vulnerability that we hope resonates with anyone who listens.”
“Easy” explores difficult themes of change, loss, and moving through turbulent times with strength and hope. The song features the band’s signature mix of explosive synth pop complete with glittering melodies, driving guitars, and soaring vocals. Meanwhile “Where Do We Go From Here?” is a slight departure for the band sonically and lyrically. MisterWives further explains, “it’s what happens when trust is broken and rather than running from the anger, fear and jealousy that comes with that, we made a 4 minute soundtrack for those complex and uncomfortable emotions.”
