Hybrid production-vocal duo, Daniel Chrisman and Israel Lee – collectively known as Tree Giants – have released their stunning new single, “Better Together“. Serving as the lead track to their upcoming, yet-to-be-titled EP, “Better Together” is a communally-inspired, indietronic-anthem. Listen to it now below.
“No doubt, we’re all worn out by global fallout of the past two years, from a pandemic standpoint, but also with continual unrest and most recently, the crisis in Ukraine we’ve watched with aching hearts from the comfort of our own homes,” says Chrisman. “What really stirred emotion in us, though—leading us to write ‘Better Together’—was witnessing the inevitable, beautiful effects of unity amongst people—especially in desperate circumstances. It’s our genuine hope that the demonstration of humanity coming together to take care of each other in dark times will encourage us all to see that life is truly going to be better if we simply look out for each other, even when we’re in quieter, lighter seasons.”
Typically, the creation process starts with Chrisman producing a track from his home studio in OKC, sending the files to a very transient Lee who puts lyrics and vocals to what’s been built, then back to Chrisman for added vocal texture and production touches. This work has garnered Tree Giants a stellar reputation amongst their industry peers.
“I first came across Tree Giants on a track featuring them in maybe 2015 or 2016,” AESTHETYK founder Matt Ingle recalls. “Their contribution to that particular song completely got my attention and put them on my radar for other projects they worked on for years later. As I was getting AESTHETYK off the ground in 2020, I remember listening to Tree Giants’ indie release ‘Clarity’ and thought, ’This is the exact kind of artist I want on my label’s roster.”
