Los Angeles-based singer and songwriter Goldie Vargas has released her new single, “Moving in Reverse”, taken from her upcoming EP, due out this summer. The new single follows her debut release, “Strawberry Kisses” and is a cathartic, emotional release for the singer, who describes the fear, isolation and uncertainty she was feeling during the first week of the pandemic. Listen to the song now below.
After writing and recording “Moving in Reverse,” Goldie didn’t touch it again for an entire year. She explains what drew her back to the song, “It took a really mentally challenging period of my life to take me back to the final recording of the song where I discovered an entire new meaning in it. Everything I was going through with brain fog, anxiety and depression was being said through the song and communicated in such a clear way.”
Over the past two years, Goldie has been hard at work creating her debut EP with her producer Adam Gurr. “I want listeners to be transported to a different world where they can be their truest selves and feel whatever emotion they want to feel to the truest extent when listening to my music,” she says of her upcoming EP. “I want listeners to feel less alone, as if I took the words out of their own mind.”
