Experimental rock artist Siiickbrain has released her hauntingly beautiful new track “Jealousy” today. The track perfectly showcases all of the sides of Siiickbrain, kicking off with grunge-inspired vocal runs before diving into powerful screams. Listen to the song now below.
“Even if we try to fight it, as people we are all challenged by jealousy in one way or another,” Siiickbrain shares on the track. “In this song, I’m referring to an experience where I was unsure of a relationship and where it stood after finding out about a third person stepping into our space. Part of me believing that they only wanted me, while the other part of me felt left in the dark. I worked on this song just after finding out about someone else stepping into a situation that I believed to be mine.”
Siiickbrain is the musical persona of Caroline Miner Smith. She grew up in a rural town and was always drawn to music but was afraid to dive in fully. While establishing herself as a highly desired model in New York City, Caroline started writing poetry as a means to cope with her own anxiety and personal demons.
She has showed no signs of slowing down after teaming up with artists like Hawthorne Heights to remix the iconic emo-rock anthem “Ohio Is For Lovers”, Russian protest art collective Pussy Riot to unleash an electrifying anthem “POWER”, which drives home the idea that women can take back any power that was ever taken from them. Inspired by her favorite movie Fight Club, the music video showcases an all-female cast of bright, young rising stars like phem, Chloe Chaidez and more fighting it out, highlighting the raw power of women. She joined Machine Gun Kelly in his musical film Downfalls High. Siiickbrain also rounded out an incredible trio including Skrillex and Swae Lee on their propulsive track “Too Bizarre.”
Siiickbrain will be joining Bring Me The Horizon on their Fall 2022 North American arena tour with special guests Knocked Loose and Grandson.
