Maddy O’Neal and Balkan Bump Collaborate on “Follow Me”

Denver-based genre-bending artist Maddy O’Neal has teamed up with producer/trumpeter Balkan Bump for her latest single, “Follow Me” today. The trap and bass-heavy track further showcases the producer’s eclectic style, effortlessly melding the skillsets of both artists.

“Follow Me” is the first collaboration between Maddy O’Neal and Balkan Bump, and their efforts result in a raucous banger that naturally binds electronic and organic elements. The single features jazzy, improvisational playing, trapped-out percussion, distorted horn rhythms, and booming bass tones, topped off by vocalist Home Malone’s infectious, reggae-infused hook.

Having already released four celebrated EPs following her debut album back in 2016, O’Neal will bolster her stacked catalog when she drops her sophomore LP this September. The album promises to be a bold personal statement representing O’Neal’s many internal dichotomies as both a person and an artist; a sinuous exploration of her out-of-the-box, genre-blending creative process. The LP’s production process saw the creative polymath play drum pads, keyboard, and synthesizers, in addition to featuring various vocalists and instrumentalists.

Throughout this summer, Maddy will showcase “Follow Me” and other album singles on her upcoming tour dates.  Upcoming shows include performances at Lollapalooza, Secret Dreams, Same Same But Different, and Lost Lands. All tour dates can be found below.
