19-year-old singer-songwriter Rowan Drake has released his vulnerable new song, “2 People” today. The track, co-written by Rowan, came together at his friend Davin Kingston’s (John Legend, Joshua Bassett) home studio in LA. Carried by dreamy instrumentals and bittersweet lyrics, the song can be heard now below.
Of the song, he explained, “I truly believe songs mean different things to every listener, but to me this song speaks to the feeling of truly letting someone into your life and getting to a point where you are so intertwined that in a way you are them, and they are you. When that goes away, it can feel like you’ve lost a part of yourself.”
Dedicated and determined, Rowan has already begun building up fans on his TikTok by sharing snippets of his songwriting process and teasing upcoming songs. Rowan Drake was inspired at a young age to do what he loved while growing up in the small college town of Ithaca, NY. Recently relocated to LA, Rowan has spent his teenage years playing guitar, writing songs, and performing in local venues. His vulnerable pop music shows his sensitive side and his emotional journey of leaving home, broken hearts, and self-discovery. An avid nature lover, Rowan can be seen taking breaks from the studio and climbing mountains, going to the ocean, or just soaking in the sun. “2 People” is the first of many upcoming tracks from Rowan, with more music due out soon.
