Caleb Hearn has returned with his new single, “We’re Getting Older” from his forthcoming EP of the same name, out September 23rd via Nettwerk. The new song finds the 22-year-old artist belies his age penning tender tracks at the narrative crossroads of relationships, missed opportunities, and the lessons to be had from young love.
“‘We’re Getting Older’ is a song that originated from a casual conversation with a friend,” says Caleb Hearn. “When talking and reflecting on my life the last few months, I realized that even with everything going on, time keeps moving and I’m growing up. So, learning to let go and realizing that things tend to get better with time was the main inspiration behind this song.”
The We’re Getting Older EP takes the listener through the complex stages of heartbreak–from the moment you realize you’ve lost the person you love to learning how to deal with the pain that follows. “The EP was made over the past six months, with a lot of help from the people who know me best,” says Caleb. “I was going through a lot of change in my own life, dealing with heartbreak, and having to learn how to be happy on my own. It has really acted as therapy for myself. As I was able to finally pour out exactly how I was feeling into the music.”
On September 28th, Caleb will head out with labelmate and fellow songwriter Rosie Darling on a string of West Coast dates, starting in Seattle, WA.
