Pauline Herr and TWERL have reunited for their new EP, Distance, which tells of the heartfelt highs and lows of the couple’s long-distance relationship. Made up of three stunning tracks, Distance can be heard now below.
Of the EP, Pauline Herr said, “This release is very meaningful to both TWERL and I because it’s about our experience with a long-distance relationship (hence the EP title, “Distance”). Spending months apart and only being able to see each other briefly every few months has been really tough but has also made the time we have with each other really special.”
Pauline Herr and TWERL prove their creative capabilities with vocal production, songwriting, and sound design within each of these pieces. Wherever You Go acts as an upbeat beginning to this tale, combining modulated vocals from Pauline with an energetic synth-heavy chorus. Addicted finds its rightful place as the bridge, a somewhat sad yet danceable tune made for massive festivals. Finally, Stay With Me closes out this journey with somberly longing lyrics and an experimental drop. While each of these tracks can confidently stand by themselves, listening in this EP format truly allows the overarching theme to thrive.
Although some of Distance was actually written over a distance, a part of the EP was created when TWERL visited Pauline in LA late last year.
“”Wherever You Go”, came about shortly before TWERL was heading back to Australia. I went into the vocal booth at the studio, wrote lyrics and recorded a vocal and then showed it to him. We both got really emotional and knew we had something special to work with. After TWERL flew back to Australia we smashed out the rest of the track remotely.”
Like the title of this EP, Pauline Herr and TWERL’s artistic achievements continue to cover more and more distance with each release. Pauline is booking festivals like Electric Zoo and Sunset Music Festival and working alongside established electronic artists such as Slushii and Hex Cougar, to name a few. This blooming artist has also recently made her debut at EDC Las Vegas and is not showing any signs of slowing down. TWERL is currently garnering global recognition with his releases on established labels like Mad Decent, Sony, Sweat It Out!, Bassrush, Elysian and Lowly Palace.
