Indie pop/r&b artist Zachary Knowles has released a soulful live performance of his newest single, “CRUSH” today. Shot at the iconic Billy Bobs in Fort Worth, Texas, the video finds Zachary Knowles alone with his keyboard as his soothing isolated vocals float over dreamy piano chords. The video is the perfect companion of the song’s tender narrative. Watch it now below.
When speaking on the inspiration of “CRUSH”, Knowles explains, “I think one of the best feelings is when you have a crush on someone and find out the feelings are mutual. What’s crazier is when you’ve been with someone for years and they still give you those initial feelings you had when they were just a crush. Those are the feelings that I wanted to channel when I wrote this song.”
“CRUSH” is taken from Knowles’ upcoming EP, GOALIE, showcasing his most personal work to date. Knowles is no longer holding himself back from making the music he loves, offering proof that pop can be personal. In 2022, Knowles’ work speaks for itself, marking him as one of the most intriguing and capable emerging song crafters to date. GOALIE will be released October 14th, 2022
