Alt-pop artist, KiNG MALA (AKA Areli Castro) has released her new single “i hope you know what you’re doing” today. The track, carried by a punchy bass line, features Castro’s soulful whisper-laced verses telling the classic story of cat and mouse in the messy thing we call love. Listen to it now below.
“IHYKWYD is about being led on but loving the chase. I was absolutely in love with this girl who was so into me one day, then ice cold the next and i kept holding out hope that it would work out.,” KiNG MALA shares. “Maybe I’m a glutton for punishment, or just bored, but there’s something about someone who is just out of your reach that is so exciting (in a “i’m going insane” type of way haha).”
KiNG MALA will be supporting UPSAHL on a 17-date tour this fall, kicking off on September 29 in Santa Ana, CA before wrapping back at The Roxy in Los Angeles on October 22nd. A full list of tour dates can be found below.
