LA indie-pop songwriting duo, Sleeping Lion have released their stunning new single, “Hurt Nobody” today. Taken from their upcoming album, Most Improved, out this fall, the track explores post-breakup selfishness with a vibe that is almost too-energetic & funky. Listen to the emotionally vulnerable yet carefree track now below.
“We originally wrote the chorus for the song in 2017, but had a lot of trouble writing the rest of it for years,” says the band. “Finally, amidst the COVID lockdown in April 2020, we decided to FaceTime with our friend/co-writer Alex Venegas who helped us finally complete the songwriting. The song includes gang vocals from an actual crowd singing along during one of our live shows, trumpet by Ariel Shrum, voice acting (for a fake movie quote) from Robert Stephenson & Michelle Agresti, and was mixed/mastered by Ziptye.”
