20-year-old alt-pop artist, Rebebe has released her otherworldly new single, “Prozac” today. Co-produced by Villads Øster of internationally acclaimed indie pop-outfit, Liss, the incredibly vulnerable track finds Rebebe reflecting on unhealthy relationships and realizing that sometimes only you know what’s best for you. “‘Prozac’ is about being in a relationship based on mutual exploitation of each other, knowing that even though you’re a real piece of work, you’re still more than welcome to come and disturb me. This is your life and for some reason you don’t want to change a thing… Truth is it’s a need – a selfish necessity for both of you,” Rebebe says.
Rebebe began writing and producing her own songs years ago and when she decided to upload some early demo tapes on Soundcloud, her genre-fluid sound instantly made the comments section red hot. Her first official release, ‘DVDs’, came out this August and more is to come from the Copenhagen newcomer.
