Toronto artist and songwriter Alle The Dreamer has made her debut with her new single, “Lonely Hallucinations” via Set Records today. Best known for her dynamic songwriting and unique dream-pop sound, Alle pushes creative boundaries with a fluid blend of vintage and cutting-edge influences, creating a sound that is distinctively her own.
Produced and co-written with Derek Hoffman (RALPH, Grae, Caveboy, The Arkells), “Lonely Hallucinations” is a song about feeling stuck and struggling to let go and make peace with it. “I wrote this song about being stuck in between the past and the present. It’s a break up song about my inability to see clarity and wanting peace,” Alle shares of the song. “Feeling paralyzed in my decisions and constantly reliving memories from the past. I also have this deep fear of making mistakes and then regretting them in the future. So it was kind of like all of these mixed feelings that were coming up. You know when someone is talking to you, but you’re just somewhere else, lost in a memory? Yeah that’s Lonely Hallucinations. It’s about all the thoughts and memories that live in your head that no one knows about.“
Alle established herself in the local music scene early on, writing and recording with collaborators in Toronto, LA, and London. Among them; Samuel Gerongco (Alessia Cara), Bram Inscore (BTS, Andy Grammer), Jeff Shum (John Legend, Camila Cabello), Dayyon Alexander (Demi Lovato, Dua Lipa), and Negin Djafari (Drake). Alle has also accumulated numerous credits including as a featured artist on DVBBS’ single ‘Wicked Ways’ and Morgan Page’s ‘Beautiful Disaster’, and as a co-writer for Little Mix’s ‘F.U’ (from the 5x platinum album Glory Days), two singles for K-POP superstar Suho, and Baby Ariel’s 2019 track ‘I Heart You’.
Despite these successes, at one point, Alle stopped making music and stopped singing altogether, as music became more of a chore than something she derived pleasure from. She missed making music for the fun of it, and decided she needed to take time away and focus inward. Over time and some deep reflection, she realized that creating music doesn’t have to answer to other people’s expectations – what’s important is writing from the heart.
Now, Alle the Dreamer has arrived and ready to take on the industry with her dreamy collection of music. “Lonely Hallucinations” is just the beginning of Alle’s new journey; be sure to follow @allethedreamer across platforms for the latest.
