Indie-pop/folk singer-songwriter Stephen Babcock has unveiled his upbeat new single, “All I Can Do” today. The relatable offering is a message to all significant others who see their partner struggle with self-doubt, as they love each other unconditionally through the tough times and imperfections. Babcock’s warm vocals effortlessly blend with the bluesy, 90’s acoustic strings and velvety bass line. Listen to the track now below.
On the inspiration behind the single, Babcock explains, “‘All I Can Do’ is about me recognizing that I don’t have all of the answers and I’m still figuring things out for myself. I’d just gotten married, COVID was in full swing so touring had come to a halt, and I couldn’t help but get lost in the question of ‘What I’m doing with my life?’ At its core, this is me sharing my personal experience of looking at the person I love and saying, ‘I know I can’t give you everything you need or want right now, but I will continue to do all that I can to show you I love you.’”
Babcock is adoringly known as “Internet Dad” online, a fan-given moniker which was born from his relatable pop music and consistent fan engagement. He holds an impressive list of shows under his belt, traveling up and down the East coast opening for artists including Ed Sheeran, Izaak Opatz, Canyon City, William Hinson and Girl Blue to name a few.
“All I Can Do” is from Babcock’s forthcoming sophomore album, When We Were Kids Ourselves, which will consist of fan-favorite tracks and recently released singles “Worst Ways,” and “Still Think Of You.” 2022 has brought an exciting taste of the upcoming full-length effort, leaving fans eager for more as we witness Babcock hitting his musical stride while coming into his own as a writer. When We Were Kids Ourselves will be released November 10th, 2022.
