ILLENIUM has released his emotional new single “Worst Day” featuring pop savant MAX today via Warner Records. Featuring bristling guitar, sparkling vocals and bone-rattling synth breakdowns, the pair deliver a dizzy daydream of epic proportions. Watch the accompanying music video now below.
“Worst Day” is about wrestling the darkness and choosing light. “Closed my eyes and had a dream about a lonely place where flowers only bloom in gray,” MAX belts over ethereal riffs and shimmering synths. “Thought that I would have to say goodbye, could’ve been the worst day of my life.” Despite the track’s contemplative lyrics, ILLENIUM’s multi-layered production offers full-throated optimism and exuberance.
ILLENIUM just hit #1 at US dance radio this week with the Teddy Swims-assisted “All That Really Matters.” Prior to that, he dropped “From The Ashes” featuring Skylar Grey. All three tracks will appear on the producer’s forthcoming fifth studio album.
Following a full summer headlining festivals (Hangout Music Festival, EDC Las Vegas, Bonnaroo), ILLENIUM will bring his Ember Shores festival back to Cancun this December. Buy tickets HERE. This summer, ILLENIUM announced the biggest show of his career Trilogy: Colorado at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver, CO on Saturday, June 17, 2023 for three unique sets over one night – tickets are on sale HERE.
Dabbling in every imaginable speed of pop music and mastering them all, MAX is a true musical chameleon. With “Butterflies,” he exhibited a brilliant understanding of the sweet, stripped down single, while on songs like “WASABI,” he explored funk and soul elements to incredible effect. Now, alongside ILLENIUM, the crooner expands his horizons further, staking out the world of kinetic, big-beat dance tracks.
With “Worst Day,” the dynamic duo proves that they are capable of creating the kind of crossover tracks that dominate clubs and pop radio.
