Los Angeles-based indie artist, LO LA has released her new single, “backseat” today. The track follows this summer’s release of “PCH” and can be heard now below.
About the song, LO LA shares, “backseat is a song about giving into temptation and losing yourself in the moment. Sometimes you tell yourself not to go back to a toxic person, but no matter how many times you tell yourself not to, seeing them in the moment makes you forget all the bad things that they’ve done. Sometimes falling in love with the idea of someone is so powerful you just become numb to it all.”
About being an independent artist, LO LA says, “There’s something really great about being an independent artist. It’s definitely a lot of work, but the feeling you get when you finally release a song you’ve spent months working on is so rewarding. It can feel overwhelming sometimes, but I’ve found some great producers to work with and I’ve really learned a lot about the music industry throughout the years. All the fans listening to my music really motivate me every day!”
LO LA worked with Gavin Hudner and Dariush Apfelthaler, with whom she has previously collaborated, on the song’s production and mixing/mastering.
