Philadelphia-based alternative act, Autumn Pyre have released their debut album, Weathered Glass today. The album arrives alongside the new music video for “Brain Bleed”, which joins fellow singles, “Stuck” and “Hearse” released throughout this year.
Autumn Pyre started in 2020 as the creative brainchild of guitarist / vocalist Giovanni Adiletta and has grown to include a revolving cast of live and studio musicians. The album was mixed and mastered by Jacob Clarke (Superheaven) at Creep Recording Studio. The 7 songs on the album explore themes of loss, processing past experiences and overcoming trauma. Focus track “I Just Wanna Leave” is amongst the strongest statement pieces on the release, perfectly capturing the frenetic energy of the album and mixing it with a powerful lyrical sensibility. The album is a furious cacophony of sound, made complete by impressive performances from the rhythm section and shreddy guitar solos throughout. Lead singer / guitarist Giovanni Adiletta proves that his voice that wouldn’t be out of place on a mainstream rock record, while keeping enough grit in his delivery to give each song a menacing undertone. While comparisons could be made to stalwarts like Joyce Manor, Audioslave and Nirvana, Autumn Pyre is clearly on a musical path all their own.
Lead singer / guitarist Giovanni Adiletta has this to say about the album, “Weathered Glass is about processing past experiences and growing from them. Glass is sharp when it’s broken, but becomes round and smooth after it’s been weathered. I unintentionally used lyrics such as ‘set me free’ and ‘let it go’ on multiple tracks. After realizing that, it became clear to me that this record naturally came together as a way for me to therapeutically process the past. I spent a lot of time on the lyrics and got very personal, despite how uncomfortable it felt. Musically, this record covers a variety of my favorite types of music: catchy pop-rock, fast punk, heavy riffs and more. We are very grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Jake Clarke (Superheaven/Webbed Wing) who recorded/mixed/mastered the record. Big shoutout to my bandmates Antonio Adiletta, Josh Nichols, Joe Livingston and Alex Kalatschinow. We’re very proud of this record and hope you dig it.”
