22-year-old singer/songwriter, Dasha has released her stunning new single, “Wish That You Were Here” today. Never one to sugar coat, the track finds Dasha perfectly capturing the emotional complexities that come with the end of an unhealthy relationship.
The new track is yet another emotionally raw and honest release from Dasha, who is gearing up to release her debut album, Dirty Blonde on January 27, 2023. “Wish That You Were Here” was co-written with Ben Kessler (Lizzy McAlpine) and produced by Grammy Nominated The Nicholas (San Holo, Golden Vessel, etc.)
“Dirty Blonde is all about juxtaposition” shares Dasha. “The dark and the light. The screaming and the crying. Breaking up and falling in love. The seduction and the innocence. The dirty and the blonde. I wouldn’t pin it to one genre either, though it falls under the pop umbrella. You’ll hear country/folk influences, punk rock influences, classical music influences, and more. But what holds it all together is that it was all written by me. All the stories are mine.”
It’s no wonder that Dasha is such a masterful storyteller. Having grown up in San Luis Obispo, California, Dasha was immersed in the world of dance, acting, and music. She began writing and performing at the age of 12 with help from her older brother and producer, Bardo (Beauty School Dropout).
Since inking a deal with Quadio Records – an independent label based in New York City that champions the next generation of recording artists – Dasha is poised to reach new heights with her refreshing brand of authentic, vibrant pop.
“There is no separation from Dasha the artist and Dasha, the 22-year-old girl living in LA. It’s all authentically me. All my songs are about shit that goes down in my life. I think that’s what makes my music so relatable. It’s completely honest. And maybe that’s what sets me apart.”
