Scottish-born, Canada-based artist, Aether is ushering in the new year with his stunning new single, “Sapphire” via Monstercat. The downtempo-meets-garage track follows a string of releases inspired by nature and astral elements last year, diving further into his fascination with gemstones this time around.
The track perfectly encompasses the beauty of the sapphire and its illuminating essence, with ethereal beats and textured percussion, putting Aether’s passion for ambient-influenced soundscapes on full display. With a sonic range spanning lofi to contemporary, fans can look forward to more impressive arrangements from Aether later this year on his anticipated debut Monstercat EP.
Aether shares of the new song, “In all forms, light is captured.”
At a young age, Aether was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa and pronounced legally blind. Despite his visual impairment, he has overcome hurdles to continue making music by using specialized audible tools that help to guide him through his production process. Since, he’s cemented himself as a producer and composer to watch, scoring popular video game titles and releasing diverse musical projects that have amassed millions of streams.
