Sylo has released his new EP, blanket today. Built up of intimate ballads and slow-burning grooves, the Korean-Canadian artist meticulously puts together a 7-track portrait of his latest era of life. Taking some time to himself in 2022 to place the utmost intentionality behind his work, the end product is something that feels like a personal serenade. Listen to it now below.
On his EP release, Sylo said, “’blanket’ is synonymous with the divine feminine. Unconditional love to be cradled in, where all is forgiven. This project taught me to just sit and surrender.”
Bringing together fan favorites and new releases alike, blanket kicks off with “Millions” setting the tone of the project with sultry vocals and delicate production. Moving into singles “AIR” and “Drop A Pin,” listeners are reacquainted with Sylo’s late 2022 offerings. Following a brief interlude, his most beloved track “Ginny” makes its way into the mix; almost like a capstone on this era of artistry. Rounding out with new releases “October” and “What’s Left,” Sylo satiates listeners just enough, but also leave them craving more.
Along with today’s EP, Sylo has put together a deeply vulnerable vlog about this era of his artistry entitled how I overcame myself. Watch it now below.
