Singer, songwriter and piano virtuoso, Stefano May has partnered with the Alzheimer’s Research and Prevention Foundation (ARPF) on his touching new single “Hope It Will Remind You”, out today. The heart-wrenching and bittersweet track serves as a dedication to those affected by the disease. Having witnessed early stages of dementia develop into more serious stages of Alzheimer’s amongst friends and loved ones alike, Stefano draws passion for the cause from his own personal memories. With the dedicated research of ARPF and the immense power that music plays in the healing process, May hopes his new single will shed light on the Alzheimer’s community and provide comfort to those suffering.
The accompanying music video for “Hope It Will Remind You” incorporates VHS tapes of Stefano’s childhood, where he is seen bonding with his father through music and tender, loving exchanges of affection. The narrative further reflects on the profound effect that memories have and the severe impact of this heartbreaking disease.
Stefano opened up about the song, explaining, “My lyricist John Smallwood and I hope it helps people who suffer, as well as their loved ones. This song reminds me to live each day with gratitude, love, and compassion. Prevention of Alzheimer’s is beyond important. It’s an honor to partner with The Alzheimer’s Research and Prevention Foundation as they continue to champion new findings and advocate for disease prevention, and I look forward to working alongside the organization to write music that can help people in whatever capacity I can.”
“We applaud Stefano’s commitment to Alzheimer’s prevention and are grateful to partner with him to increase awareness of this disease. In this song, Stefano’s musical mastery conveys both heart wrenching sadness and hope for the future – a significant message for young and mature audiences. Hope It Will Remind You opens the door to healing that every family needs to have.” – Dharma Singh Khalsa, MD
