16-year-old viral Pop sensation Havanna Winter has released her emotionally charged new single, “Death Wish” today via Stevie Van Zandt’s new Wonderwall Records. Produced by David Arkwright (Bella Poarch, Illenium, Icona Pop) and co-written by Winter, Arkwright, Anette Winter, and Maya K (Bebe Rexha, Anita, J Balvin), the track is joined by an official lyric video. Watch it now below.
“‘Death Wish’ is about love and how romance is unpredictable and a bit of a double-edged sword if you will,” says Havanna Winter. “Sometimes it’s a blessing and other times a lesson…but you never know in advance, and you have no choice but to gamble, even with your heart at stake, because if you don’t, you might miss out on the most incredible part of life and something true, real, and meaningful. The inspiration behind it came from one of my favorite movies: Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo and Juliet. I am so obsessed with the theme of the movie, with a mix of Shakespearean and the Roman Catholic, modern-fashion-pop-culture, being the most beautiful, yet most tragic love story of all times.”
“Death Wish” follows Winter’s riotous holiday smash, “Daddy’s Kissing Santa Claus!” An outrageous 80s-inspired Christmas video – co-starring Havanna alongside an all-star cast that includes Guevara, Marsha Molinari, Vince Rossi, Jordan Xidas, Jonnie Reinhart, Justin Love, Terrell Jones, Niels van den Heuvel, and Jonah Almanzar – has earned more than 250K views via YouTube . In addition, an exclusive “Daddy’s Kissing Santa Claus! (Rock Mix)” featuring additional production by Little Steven and Marc Ribler, was named a “Coolest Song In The World This Week” on both the Underground Garage syndicated radio show and SiriusXM channel.
Recently named a “Featured Artist” on Triller, Winter is currently hard at work on her hugely anticipated debut album, due via Wonderwall Records. With her stunning vocal range, ingenious versatility, and a one-of-a-kind vision that takes inspiration from myriad musical genres as well as such filmmakers as Tim Burton and Quentin Tarantino, the still-evolving young artist is determined to bring a similarly vivid and creative approach to modern Pop, infusing retro influences with forward-facing spirit to create something altogether her own.
