Jonas Blue and Felix Jaehn have released their energetic new track “Weekends” today via Astralwerks. Sure to cure the winter blues, “Weekends” is an upbeat, groovy, catchy as hell track that marks the first collaboration between the two multi-Platinum producers/artists/DJs. While Jonas Blue and Felix Jaehn had long discussed working together, it was an iconic 2022 night in Ibiza that provided the creative spark for their first collaboration. Through serendipity, Jonas and Felix found themselves on the same bill during the acclaimed summer residency at Pacha, curated by Robin Schulz, and “Weekends” was born. Listen to it now below.
“Felix and I had the idea to do a collaboration together when we both played at Pacha Ibiza at the end of last summer,” recalls Jonas Blue. “We’d been bouncing a few ideas back and forth and landed on ‘Weekends’ being the perfect track for us to do together. It’s a bit different to what you might expect from us individually. We wanted to do something different and with mad energy to it.”
2023 is shaping up to be huge for Jonas, who has gone multi-Platinum in over 20 countries and ranks in the Top 3 of the most-streamed dance acts in the U.K. He kicked off the year with a sold-out headline show at London’s Ministry of Sound and the momentum continues to build with U.S. residencies just announced in Las Vegas and Atlantic City and limited tickets remaining for his March tour of Japan – with the Tokyo shows already completely sold out. “Weekends” arrives on the heels of a string of 2022 releases from Felix that included “Rain in Ibiza” (with The Stickmen Project featuring Calum Scott), “Do It Better” (feat. Zoe Wees), “Call It Love” (with Ray Dalton) and “Wishlist.” “Call It Love” is currently on the radio charts in over 23 European countries and is now No. 8 on the German radio tally.
