Los Angeles-based Chicano singer, songwriter and producer, Eddie Zuko is celebrating love with his new single “Still” today. Produced by J.LBS [Kendrick Lamar] and Paul Redona, the soulful reggae-inspired track interpolates Alton Ellis’ “I’m Still In Love” bringing Eddie’s modern take to the legendary original. The suave track finds Eddie reflecting on a long-term love, serving as a reminder that even through the tests of a relationship, the periods of uncertainty, the highs and lows, each challenge overcome helps build a relationship just as strong, if not stronger than before.
The catchy tune arrives just in time to soundtrack this year’s Valentine’s Day and comes after fans begged for it to drop after teasers gained millions of views on Eddie’s socials. The track arrives alongside a colorful visualizer, which can be seen now below.
Leading into the release of “Still,” Eddie announced his ‘Abajo Del Sol’ tour last week, which sold-out in only a few days’ time. The string of live shows kicks off on March 21st in San Antonio, TX and ends in Eddie’s hometown of Los Angeles on April 8th at The Fonda.
Born in California’s Imperial Valley, Eddie grew up surrounded by the music of his Mexican family, singing at quinceañeras and family gatherings. As he took on music more seriously, he always kept his roots close weaving Spanish into his music and encouraging young Mexican-American’s to be proud of their family’s traditions. Eddie’s independently released 2017 EP El Zuko brought his breakout track “Made” which has gone on to amass over 2 million Spotify streams and opened the door to opening for Jay Rock on tour and collaborating with Sublime with Rome.
