Anna Dasha Novotny – known simply as Dasha – has returned with the video for her track, “Make A Scene“. Taken from her debut album, Dirty Blonde, the song finds Dasha in top form and the video is no different. The intimate new video can be seen now below.
Speaking on the song, Dasha said, “I wrote the song with The Gifted in L.A., and I remember going home that night and listening back to the rough day bounce but instantly knew this song would be an integral part of my debut album. I had the title/lyric in my song ideas in my Notes app for months. I pulled inspiration from the golden age of Hollywood in both production and lyrical choices. There’s something so timeless about that era that’s so inspiring to my artistry. ‘Make A Scene’ is all about wanting to show someone off to the world in the most confident and glamorous way – ‘Darling let’s make a scene.’”
She continued, “‘Make A Scene’ is lyrically sugar-coated in metaphors of the golden age of Hollywood, but it’s not difficult to tell what the song is actually talking about, and for that, I love this song so much. Sonically, it sounds just like the album visually looks. My number one goal for the music video was to shock people. I knew I wanted to use unbroken sexual tension as the main driver for the storyline because that feeling, which all of us have felt, is the most addictive thing I’ve probably ever experienced. While pulling together references and ideas for the video, I made sure to emphasize that I never want the tension to be broken throughout the video – that’s why the plot twist ending is so perfect. I never once kiss Cody (Cody Meyers, Male Actor) once in the video but it leaves you feeling like you just watched us make out for three minutes straight. I still wanted the video to feel very classy and very me, but still pushing edgy and raunchy. Talia Stewart (Director) made my vision come to life so perfectly – she really is a force to be reckoned with.”
