Emerginng Australian girl pop band, Blusher have released their brand new single, “Dead End” today. The track finds the three-piece reminiscing on long nights out with good friends alongside nostalgic synth and stunning vocals. Listen to it now below.
Speaking on the song, Blusher said, “This song is about how we still long for the drama, grunge and glamour of staying out all night with our friends. That feeling is what we want to channel as a band, and that’s the energy we bring into the studio. When we first met, we found we shared a love for hard hitting, dancey pop, and decided to get together for a writing session. That day, we realised we had so much fun, chemistry and magic in the studio, we couldn’t help but start a band. Part of the reason the writing and recording process is so collaborative and enjoyable, is because we all sing, write, produce and play multiple instruments. When it comes to production, we love experimenting with our vocals. In Dead End, we whispered and yelled and sung in new ways, trying to convey those heightened emotions. The bridge is our favourite part of the song. We had so much fun dancing in the studio as we wrote that drag-show inspired bassline. With help from Robby De Sa, and many hours playing distorted guitars, the production of Dead End mirrors the story of those long, late nights.”
