LA-based producer and singer-songwriter helloworld has teamed up with Seattle-based artist Sajan Nauriyal for their new track, “call me up“. The emotionally-charged track marks helloworld’s debut on San Holo’s bitbird. Effortlessly fusing pop, hip-hop and electronic music in a unique way, the track can be heard now below.
Inspired by the struggles of a heartbreak, “call me up” explores the emotional high that can come when hearing from someone you miss, while also grappling with the challenge of moving on and finding happiness within oneself. With its raw and relatable themes, helloworld hopes the song resonates with listeners and serves as a source of inspiration and encouragement.
Speaking on the song, helloworld said, “When writing ‘call me up’, Sajan, Asher and I wanted to try writing something that felt more hip-hop facing but still felt fitting to the helloworld feeling. This track came about when we were on a writing camp in Utah and spent the day listening to music together and sending ideas back and forth.”
Throughout his career, helloworld has refused to be limited by genre and has consistently pushed boundaries with his unique sonic perspective. From Sajan’s catchy vocals to the song’s danceable yet cathartic sonic landscape filled with melodic basses and sprawling synth arrangements, “call me up” makes another captivating addition to helloworld’s already impressive discography and solidifies his place as a rising star in the industry.
Fans can experience the enchantment of “call me up” live on March 4th as helloworld supports OddKidOut’s show at The Moroccan Lounge in Los Angeles.
