Bass phenom SKYLER has teamed up with singer-songwriter Josh Rubin on “Fix Me,” the second single from her upcoming EP. Leading with Josh Rubin’s powerful vocals, the track follows his courageous journey of putting his mental health first. The empowering and inspirational track, which reminds listeners to embrace vulnerability and self-reflection during challenging situations, can be heard now below.
SKYLER said of the song, “Although I finished this track before my rebrand and it’s a future-bass sound that’s different from what you’ll be hearing come from my project this year, I am still extremely proud to release “Fix Me” because of the raw, complex emotion behind it. The title of the song is a play on words, begging the world to ‘fix you,’ but the lyrics reflect the pain one feels when they are at the crossroads of knowing only you can fix yourself.”
Josh Rubin adds, “The hardest part about going through struggles is finding the courage to ask for help. A lot of times we’re our worst enemy and our biggest critic. It’s important to reach out and talk to friends and loved ones. A lot of times, we don’t realize it, but we’re all more similar and connected than we realize. Never be afraid to ask for help. You’re never alone.”
SKYLER is making waves through the scene with her genre-bending stylings and eclectic trap sounds, garnering the likes of electronic heavyweights like Illenium, who played her recent release “Hit My Line” in his Phoenix Radio show, and Flux Pavillion, for whom she made an official remix of “Sink Your Teeth In (feat. Drowsy).” She continues to hit milestones in her meteoric rise, including her festival debut at Tomorrowland last year and her first gaming sync in Rocket League with “Hit My Line”. She’s gearing up to release more heavy-hitting bass records that will be included in her upcoming EP, due this summer on Monstercat.
Singer-songwriter and musician Josh Rubin debuted on Monstercat alongside bass producer Fransis Derelle with the 2021 single “Same Mistake,” which has accumulated more than 2 Million streams on Spotify alone. He’s made appearances at major festivals like Coachella and EDC Las Vegas and has had renowned electronic producers Alison Wonderland, Gryffin, and more play his tunes out in their sets. Currently studying music production at ICON Collective, fans can look forward to music to come that fully captures his vision with his own production skills.
