Nashville-based independent indie rock artist Palmer has released “Picture Books“, his first new single of 2023. The nostalgic surf-rock anthem marks the start of a new era for Palmer. Recorded at Universal’s East Iris Studios, “Picture Books” is Palmer’s first release created outside of his bedroom, but it stays true to his indie authenticity while continuing to level up sonically.
“Picture Books” captures the feeling of being overwhelmed – plagued with a lack of purpose. The song also doubles as a love letter to his girlfriend who never left his side through it all. The fresh, coming-of-age soundtrack single is a summer anthem in the making that’ll have you rolling down the windows and singing along in no time.
Palmer, formerly known as Palmertrees, is a 21-year-old, multi-instrumentalist who translates life into song. While he currently lives out of Nashville, Tennessee, most of his life has been spent on the move; clocking in 14 different homes over his lifetime and never truly settling roots in one place. This experience can be felt through his music which has been fully written, produced, mixed, and mastered on his own in his countless bedrooms. He has been releasing music since 2019, and draws influence from the likes of Palace, Dayglow, and The Backseat Lovers. Since the start of his career, he found his way into opening for Jordy Searcy in the Fall of 2021 and has been playing all across Nashville to share his sound with the masses.
