Nashville-based indie-rock/pop band, Parrotfish have returned with “Hitchhiking“, their first new single of 2023 today via Lowly. Driven by a contagious energy that fans have come to know them by, the new track features the band’s signature brand of cutting edge soundscapes while touching on a subject with a deeper meaning. Listen to it now below.
Of the song, the band said, “’Hitchhiking’ is an angsty and raw song about always wanting to get away from where you are, and feeling that the grass is always greener elsewhere. It follows two people hitchhiking to avoid their problems. Eventually they hitchhike back home which goes to show: you cannot run away from your problems, but instead must face them head on.”
“Hitchhiking” is their first release of 2023 and follows 2022’s Something’s In The Milk EP that came out in September. The five-track EP featured its lead single “Coolest Taste In Clothes” and was accompanied by three music videos for the aforementioned lead single, “Everyone Else” and “Witch Slap”.
