Lyn Lapid is kicking off her new musical era with her new single, “poster boy” today via Mercury Records/Republic Records. The track is the latest taken from her soon-to-be-announced sophomore EP and follows her recent collaboration with Canadian singer and songwriter Ruth B. on “do u really?”. The new track perfectly showcases Lyn’s eloquent songwriting, uplifting energy, and lovelorn emotion.
Lyn says of the song, “I’m so excited for ‘poster boy’ because it’s the perfect segue into this new era of music I have to share. It’s about that moment when you see a stranger in public that’s so fine that you imagine your whole life with them, and that you don’t care if they’re a serial killer or anything like that because they’re so fine. At the airport, in a coffee shop, in a bookstore, I feel like we’ve all been guilty of doing this. It’s a glimpse into the delulu aspect of my personality.”
2022 was a major year for Lyn Lapid. Last fall, as Billboard proclaimed, “Lyn Lapid is proving her mettle as an artist in her own right.” She dropped her tracks “Saturn” and “Detached,” while quickly selling out her first US headline tour in just a few days, which included shows in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C. In April 2022, Lyn dropped her long-awaited debut EP The Outsider, which was dedicated to all “the outsiders” like herself and features fan favorites like “In My Mind,” “I Guess That Was Goodbye,” and “The Outsider.” The EP received critical acclaim from Billboard, UPROXX, Hypebae, and more, with Atwood Magazine naming her an “exceptional artist-to-watch.” Not to mention, in addition to her own headline shows, she toured across North America with Eric Nam, Ricky Montgomery, and Claire Rosinkranz.
Surpassing over 550 million global streams across her catalog and amassing nearly 5 million TikTok followers to date, Lyn Lapid has affirmed herself as a rising artist to watch in 2023.
