Citizen are celebrating the tenth anniversary of their debut album, Youth with a reissue of the record, due out June 10th via Run For Cover Records. The Youth 10 Year Anniversary Edition is an essential showcase of one of the most era-defining releases in Run For Cover’s classic-packed catalog. New additions to the vinyl packaging include a die-cut slip-case cover and a painted rendition of the album’s classic flower text done by artist Mike Adams, along with an updated inner sleeve with photos from the era and new liner notes. The reissue pays homage to a landmark record for Citizen and re-contextualizes it alongside their ever-growing discography. It is available for pre-order now.
Guitarist Nick Hamm discussed Youth, saying, “It’s both exciting and slightly concerning that it’s been 10 years since the release of Youth. We wrote it as 18 year olds with very little clue what we were doing but it accidentally changed our lives. It afforded us the ability to travel the world and has served as a symbol of such an exciting time for us. I would’ve never thought, at the time, that we’d be celebrating it a decade later.”
Citizen have also announced a run of shows in celebration of the anniversary. The Decade of Youth tour starts in June and includes support from Fiddlehead.
