Donna Missal has returned with “Out Of Me“, another new track from her upcoming album, Revel, out June 16th via ADA Worldwide. Co-written with Swedish-American producer/ songwriter Marcus Andersson (Demi Lovato, Monsta X, Rina Sawayama), and produced both by Andersson and Billboard (Dua Lipa, Ariana Grande, Robyn), the new track is a delicious dancefloor ready, electro-pop tune. It marks the perfect follow-up to “Flicker”, which displayed not only her determination and fortitude, but provided fans a glimpse into her new body of work which Donna believes is the most authentic she’s ever created.
When asked about what inspired the song, Donna explained, “Writing ‘Out of Me’ was about an acceptance of where I was, just to be that tired from that endless reaching feeling, I think I just needed to talk about wanting to stop. I think that’s why movement has been such a cathartic thing to use for this album, from production to visuals.”
Continuing with her dance theme, Donna worked with director Sadie Wilking on the mesmerizing “Out Of Me” music video. The visual features an incredibly emotional partnered dance piece performed and choreographed by Alyssa Allen and Jordan Lang. Donna excitedly shares, “I love how ‘Out of Me’ has been interpreted into something so symbiotic by these inspiring dancers.”
Speaking about her upcoming album, Donna Missal said, “Revel is an album about pushing through pain and reaching for light and feeling the revelry of transcending our darkest times.” She said, adding, “It’s hopeful, but it’s honest about how hard that can be. Inevitably though it’s so full of energy, and it was the most cathartic process to make it. It’s my first independent album and I feel more free and connected to what I’ve made than ever.”
