LA-based producer Slippy has revealed his new double single, “Like It Was & Wait For Me” via bitbird today. Perfectly showcasing his diversity and unique sound, the double single is made up of feature one Drum and Bass song and one Future Riddim song.
“Like It Was” features the talent of Luma, a New York-based songwriter and vocalist renowned for her collaborations with top EDM artists. The single merges Slippy’s trademark dark and orchestral-influenced sounds with Luma’s infectious pop vocals, resulting in a captivating and genre-bending track that’s bound to captivate a diverse audience of music fans.
Speaking on the song, Luma said, “I’m super stoked I was able to collab with Slippy – I’ve been a fan of his work for a while now and what we made feels like a unique combination of both of our styles. It’s always exciting to get out of a creative comfort zone and work with people who raise the bar. “Like It Was” is super special and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”
“Wait For Me” is a hybrid of jungle-inspired drum & bass and Slippy’s more typical melodic style, resulting in a unique and refreshing take on the genre. With these two singles, Slippy continues to push bass music sounds with the tasteful implementation of other genres, appealing not only to average bass music fans but music fans as a whole.
Slippy explained, “This release is one more step towards me solidifying the goal of releasing whatever genre of music I’d like while still maintaining my sound and style. I truly enjoy experimenting with blending genres and coming up with new combinations, and don’t want to limit myself to anything besides “bass music” as a whole.”
“Like It Was & Wait For Me” is a testament to Slippy’s versatility and ability to create music that is both unique and catchy. Fans of Slippy and bass music alike will not want to miss this double single release.
