Indie rock band, Pacifica have released the music video for their latest single, “Anita” today. Fans can get to know Anita – strong-willed, independent, and unforgettable – now below.
The band said of the track, “Anita is the type of girl you just can’t get over. You will love her, you will hate her, but most of all: you will need her.”
The Latin music craze is well documented, but Pacifica might be the first female-fronted Latin indie band to become a global phenomenon (it doesn’t hurt that they sing in perfect English!).
It all started when two twenty-something girls from Buenos Aires started playing covers of their favorite indie sleaze bands and sharing them on the internet. Inés Adam was posting covers of The Strokes, and Martina Nintzel was captivated by her soon to be best friend and intimate bandmate. The two followed each other and started posting covers together in early 2021 and shortly after, Ines and Martina caught the attention of TAG, who encouraged them to take this seriously.
In 2022, the girls started writing originals for a 2023 debut – and have quickly grown into a buzzy and critically-acclaimed powerhouse. The girls’ unique appeal is that they are the cooler older sisters introducing a younger generation to unknown new music. And older fans like Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers are enthralled, not only by their musicianship, but by their depth of musical references. As digital natives, Pacifica are naturals on camera and are happy to take fans along on the journey to see what happens next.
Pacifica’s catchy take on sleeze rock has landed them placements on Spotify’s All New Rock, Novedades Viernes Cono Sur, el under (cover), Novedades Rock, and EQUAL Argentina playlists. Stay tuned for new music, coming soon, at https://linktr.ee/pacificabanda.
